Electron Microscopic Observation on Plasmacytogenesis

Abstract
|

|
We made an attempt to clarify the plasmacytogenesis in the thymus of rats injected cortisone, adrenalectomized, or adrenalectomized and injected cortisone. The cells in a, portion of area of proliferation of pyroninophilic cells observed by light microscopy were observed by electron microscopy a series of transformed cells from the original cells to mature plasma cells.
The results were as follows:
In the area of proliferation of pyroninophilic cells by light microscopy in the thymus, mature reticular cells, intermediate forms between reticular cell and transitional cell, transitional cells, proplasmacytes and mature plasmacytes were observed in electron microscopic examination.
The series of transformed cells was more prominent in the cortisone-injected group.
